I sold a NIB M629 w/ the IL last year for $600.

A neighbor has both for sale and I only want (or can afford) one.
He advised take my pick for 600.00
Now which is the better deal?
Either would serve my needs.
I do not plan to sell it but the "pink slips" have be handed out once where I work, so who knows if I may have to if round two happens

I'd get the Mountain Gun. It's what a big bore handgun is supposed to look and feel like.
I'd opt for the Mtn gun because I know that it has the performance enhancements that Smith introduced with the 629-3's because you say it has the dreaded lock. I'm not sure when the enhancement's hit the 29 series, but I think it was later than the 29-3's.
