I've just started to reload.
I recently went to a show.
I know enough to NEVER buy an "open/partly used" bottle of powder, no matter how good a price.
But, I did buy a couple "open boxes" of bullets from stands at the show.
Afterwards, it dawned on me that with "open boxes," there is no almost absolute certainty that the bullets in the box are what it says on the label.
I sample checked a few with the micrometer, & those particular ones were what they were labeled as.
But, I will have to check them all before using them.
I am looking for an easy way out.
With drill bits, we can buy a metal plate that has a (labeled) hole in every size drilled into it; just start sticking your drill bit into them until you find the one that's just right.
I have been unsuccessfully searching for a similar metal plate that can be used in the same way to determine bullet sizes.
This would help me with my current boxes, and also be helpful at future shows, to sample any open boxes.
(I wouldn't trust myself to be able to reliably use a chart to hold the bullets up against to determine their size).
Thanks !
