Accurate .38 Special loads.
Hi, has anybody had good luck with Green Dot and 158 gr. LSWC bullets? I want something accurate.
Currently, I have been using 3 gr. Clays with the above mentioned bullets. Mild recoil and clean. Thanks, Bob

19.5 gr Green Dot and 1 oz #8 shot make excellent trap loads, but sometimes is not too accurate. May have something to do with the shooter. I see pistol data published for GD, but have never tried it. Would hate to see my trap scores move to the pistol range.

Max load of 3.7gr of Green Dot at 910fps with a 158gr LSWC.
Green Dot has always performed great for me in any handgun loading I've ever tried it in.

Thanks Parisite, I will try that. I have used it in 9's, and .40's, but not in .38's yet. I do have data, but like to know what actually brings success or resolts! Bob

What's wrong with the Clays. Mild and clean loads are good. Is accuracy off or are you just wanting to try to try different loads. I know more is better but was thinking I might try some Clays. I use Bullseye and Universal Clays now.

hawgleg, I like clays, as mentioned in my original post. Just want to try G.D. also. Haven't loaded any .38's with it. When I loaded many 12 ga. shells, these were my only go to powders. Bob
