Default Hornady Flex-Tip 140 gr 38/357' ?

Howdy folks, .. just wonderin' if any of you guy's have any
experience with this bullet from Hornady?
Would these be ok under standard pressure loads in my 38'
2 inch J' & K' frames? Or would they be more suited for my
6 inch GP 100 357'?
These are all they have in stock at my local Cabelas' & I was
thinkin bout pickin up a box of 100 for 25 bucks.
I'm just dyin to break in my new Lee Classic Cast press, & was
wonderin if these Flex-Tip's would be ok as my first handgun
reloading experience?
I have heard that my local pistol range does not allow non
jacketed lead bullets so these are good in that respect.
I still have lots of gear & components to get' but I figured I'd
get these now while the gettin's good.
.. Any thoughts would be appreciated*

They will work well for punching paper in either the 38 snub or .357.

But.... Please do call the range and make sure you can't use cast. If they do allow cast or can find some other place to shoot with cast, that would be my prefeered option just based on cost savings. I can buy 500 cast 38 bullets from Missouri Bullet for around $30 plus shipping. I order 1,500+ at a time to round shipping out.

If you can't use cast period and can't find another place that allows them, look for some Berry's or Ranier plated bullets.

If plated bullets can't be found, the FXT's will work just fine in both your guns when using the correct data for that bullet. I looked and saw plenty of data for 38 and 357 on Hodgdon's website, so you should be good to go.

Great! .. Thank you very much Tappedandtagged*
That's just what I wanted to hear, I realize these are a bit
spendy' but I don't mind for now, I just want to
start cuttin' my teeth on my shiny new reloading bench.
I will call the range and get all the particular's, but I can
allways shoot the Cast lead on my favorite loggin roads.
.. Thanks again
