My local gun shop has a sparse selection of ammo and one brand I noticed he had alot of was Magtech. I am looking at getting in to reloading in a couple of months but for now I am just shooting store bought brass. My question is will this magtech brass be good enough to reload? The gun store has the magtech for $13 for a 50 round box of .38 Spl which is really cheap so I am guessing that the brass isn't very good but figured someone on here could tell me for sure.

Thanks,

I think the Magtech ammo is headstamped CBC. I love picking up CBC brass and reloading it. No problems here. Its the A-Merc I throw out. Too many primers backing out on my reloads.

I love CBC brass - deep primer pockets. Stuff feels a bit stiff, but I've never had it crack on me.

Sounds good I will probably pick up 2 or 3 or 10 boxes this week. Have to see how many the gun shop has left.

Whats Darrell Whittaker, whittakers gun shop, doing these days? I know he is near you, somewhere.

Yeah that is the shop that has the Magtech ammo for so cheap!

He is big as ever, maybe bigger. Rumor around here is that he is getting ready to get out of the business and put the shop up for sale, don't know if that is true but I have some family that lives out his way and he has been buying up land like crazy. He also has a gun range he opened several years ago and I think he would rather mess with that than the gun shop.

It sure is fun to go out their and look at guns though, lately his prices have been creeping up, especially on his used stuff, and he doesn't have as good of bargains as he use to. I can remember when the price you paid for new guns at Whittaker's was less than most used guns around.
