Any experience with Fiocchi primers

Zero experience with their primers, but I've used a ton of their loaded ammo. Always been very happy with it. If they use their own primers for their ammo, I would not hesitate. Where did you find it, btw? I could always use another spare brick for peace of mind.

I bought and sold 1000s of them in the1500 packs. I used the small rifle primers too. Still have a few. Every one I used went bang just as they should. Check the box to see if marked made in USA... If so they must have the new factory in operation. Their shotshell primers works fine too

I have used thousands of them with zero issues. Proceed with confidence.

Fiocchi was supposed to be close to opening a new primer plant in Little Rock, but I have not read anything about it recently. They were going to manufacture lead-free primers. No reason to expect that Fiocchi primers wouldn’t be just as good as any other brand.

I have never bought their components. The ammo always goes bang when I pull the trigger. So I would expect the primers to work flawlessly.

I used a lot of them 2 shortages ago. I like they 150 per skid.

They worked very well for me. I didn't see and difference from the CCI primers I usually use. Note, I do not have any guns with altered trigger strikes from outside work.

Edit: I bought 2 bricks, 3,000 primers and all fired as designed.

Thousands used, with no problems that would question their reliability or quality vis-a-vis typical domestic primers (i.e., cci, Winchester, Federal or Remington)...

None are perfect, but as reloaders we should realize that we are no more perfect than our components: their small rifle primers seem to be very good in multiple applications.

Cheers!

There are two general types of primers offered by Fiocchi, standard and lead free (aka ZetaPi). Note that the latter have a finite shelf life.
Quote:
"Slightly different than standard Fiocchi primers, these Earth-friendly primers are made with all lead-free components and are safe for use in all indoor ranges. They also have a 15 year shelf life as long as they are kept in a cool, dry place."

Same here! I cannot imagine they would have inferior primers for reloaders and superior primers for their own ammo production.

I have never used them but I would certainly keep them open as an option. Most of my reloading since 2019-2020 has been 32-20, 32 S&W Long , .38 S&W and .38 Special. Almost all of the data that I have used calls for CCI number 500 which I still have enough of at least for now.

If I can find the Fiochi primers locally at a good price I will give them a try.

Thanks everyone.

A fairly small shop in Southern California is stocking them, and I don't believe they ship

I had a ton of trouble with them. They kept hanging up in the primer-feed mechanism of my Dillon progressive presses. I had bent primers, smashed primers, and primers stuck in the feed mechanism so hard it broke the indexing ring of the shellplate before I finally figured out it was the primers.
The primers were just a little long before being seated. The seated depth was a bit long as well, but not enough to be a safety problem and the ones that did feed and seat worked fine.

No problems whatsoever in my Dillons. I also use with a RCBS bench mounted primer seater..no problems. Only primer I don't use in progressive presses is Federal...and they may work fine. I don't want to find out
