I recently bought a bunch of brass prep. tooling made by the Monadnak Tool company as I really like their brass barber....this tool came with the sale and I have no idea as to it's use, any of you fellow members know?

Also, would like to find a chart from Monadnak Tool for the sizing of the mandrel, or even better a copy of their catalog.

Thanks everyone!!

Randy

looks like it could be a shell holder that inserts into a power tool like a drill for use with a trimming tool - ala. Lee case trimmers

Agree and with the #2 it could also be using the Lee numbering system too.

I have a couple or so of them.Seem to think they used the RCBS shell holder numbering

Just a couple thoughts; does the hex shaft screw up into the shell holder? For the tool to work in a drill there must be some way to lock the case in the tool to prevent the case from turning in the tool. Is the hole shown in pic #3 for a set screw? The shaft appears to be a standard 1/4" hex like used on nut driver shafts...

The simple answer is, yes! While much better materials and quality, these work just the same as the Lee tool. Sinclair International tools often had shell holders that were interchangeable with Lee's holder for priming and used the same numbering system, but they were stainless and had some shell plates Lee didn't make (338 Lapua being the one I used).

Like several have said, it is a case spinner, just like what Lee still makes. It is used either with a trimming tool like Lee's, or to polish brass. Put a case in it, spin with steel wool, and presto, you have a case that is clean outside.

After reading burneyr's post below I will second his endorsement of K&M tools, they are all excellent!

That is a 1st generation K&M Precision power adapter designed to work with cordless screwdrivers. They use readily available Lee prime tool shell holders.

Hold the tool body and unscrew the shaft, and the shell holder will loosen and can be released. Change shell holder as necessary for whichever cartridge head you are working with.

Turning case necks I must have used one of these things for a hundred hours over the years. K&M makes excellent quality reloading tools.
