Here in VA, components have gotten so pricey I saw AA hulls being sold pretty cheaply last year. I don’t if any of my friends who shoot at flying pottery have any left, but I can ask around, how many are you trying to buy and what gauge(s)?
I reload mostly metallics (I’m here, right?) but I occasionally shoot and reload 20 ga. I also load a few 12s and 410s on rare occasions, so I’ve accumulated enough once fired stuff for my own needs, but not enough to share... sorry.

Win AA is a good hull to reload but I would not push aside any Rem "Uni" Green or Gold hulls that fell infront of me.

I need to get out and shoot more !!

Same here...........I even reload Win. Universals....They work fine. ALL Federal hulls go in the trash.

I haven’t reloaded shot shell in several years now, but I always really liked STS hulls when I was active in trap and sporting clays. Have they changed the way they’re made? AA were always decent to reload, but I preferred the STS hulls…Heck, the Rem Gun Clubs were decent to reload as well (not as good as STS, but pretty good).

Just wondering if the new Rems have changed and don’t work as well anymore…

When Winchester quit the one piece AA I started using the one piece Remington. The Remington load as good as the old Winchester. I now have enough of the Remington to wear me out. Larry

Remington chased Winchester for 35 years trying to get a shotshell case as good as the AA. Then Winchester went cheap and the bean counters killed the compression formed. The Remington 20 ga RXP was already a better case than 20 ga AAs. Rem STS cases are as good as you can get. The 28 STS is actually not very much better than the old AA 28. The AA 410 was a good long lasting case for a 410 but so inconsistent on inside volume you could not usually get a full half ounce of shot in 'em. I ended up loading Remington 410s or Fed/estate because you could get slightly more than a 1/2 ounce...a legal load but about 10 more shot per shell. Makes a difference in clay target games. Tightening chokes up also helps 28/410. I typically shot modified chokes in the 410 esp in practice. When refereeing one day I had a competitor complain about anothers load in 410. He was crushing targets. I took 8 shells at random...all AA reloads. At the end of the round the chief ref had to cut the shells open weigh and count the shot in those shells All were slightly under 1/2 ounce and within the range of the number of shot. As I knew they would be. He had just tightened his chokes and shot the birds. I actually went to 8 1/2 shot in the 410...less shot...but bigger and broke targets better. Killed doves better too

Go to your or a local club and ask around. It's best if you can find an inside source. I recently scored 600 410 and 28 AA HS for .15. I'm flush with 12 and 20 AA CF. Like everything else we have to dig around nowadays including primers and powder for the same.

For just practice loads, I have stooped as low as reloading the cheap factory
Estate hulls, just ONE time, since they have a cardboard base wad that
could come loose if reloaded too many times.

The AA and STS hulls usually get a good final crimp, from the start
if not, a small adjustment to the unit will usually fix it in short time.
You just need to find a wad for the powder, that you are using, for a
factory looking load.
