Greetings! I'm looking at taking advantage of a hazmat-free sale, which is including Mag Tech primers. I have never dealt with Mag Tech ammo or primers, so I'm reaching out. For those who have used these primers, do they tend to be reliable and relatively quirk-free? Are they universally good for semi-autos and revolvers?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

I recently bought a thousand Magtech large pistol primers and used all but 100 for priming .45 ACP brass. I was reluctant to buy them as I have never used foreign-made primers in sixty years of handloading, but thought I'd give them one try. If I get 100% fires and accuracy remains the same, I might buy more.

I don't know about the primers themselves but I've bought many cases of Magtech ammo, mostly 9mm. I have never had a primer failure. They seem to be consistent in grouping too. I like the product.

I used 10,000 Magtech large pistol primers with absolutely no problems with either seating or function. It was about 20+ years ago and they were purchased from Midway for $67 per case of 5000. I've also used Magtech ammo with no problems. It's made in Brazil and distributed all over the world. The primers were used for .45 ACP, .44 Special, .45 Colt, and .455 Webley in a variety of guns.

I’ve never bought any Magtech primers for reloading but have shot a fair amount of their ammo (which is likely to use their primers) with no problems at all. If I were buying primers and some from Magtech were offered at a reasonable price, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them.

Not to be a contrarian but years ago I thought their LPP's didn't seat as well as my Winchesters. I sold them (with a warning) as soon as I got more Winchester's.
I remember thinking some of them might have been oval rather than round. However the purchaser never mentioned any problems.
