I bought 5000 Spps from them..delivered pretty fast 60 bucks is faitly cheap for LPPs these days that is per 5000...plus tax if you have sales tax

I was looking at their website. What the heck are "Factory Second" primers? Anyone tried them? Says not suggested for cold temps. Low charge? Interesting.

I just ahot a sleeve of 100 SPP seconds this past week, all went off without a hitch in my SP-101; more info within the description on that products web page.

I've spent much $$$$ on their offerings over the years, I'm signed up for their email ads.

Only one issue w/FedEx delivery and A.R. refunded me quickly!

American made primers...Probably White River Energetics primers Never used any

Factory second primers mean either the primer cup is a smidge too hard, or the primers lack an ever so slight amount of priming compound. Not enough for the shooter to tell a difference.

FWIW, American Reloading has advertised two different versions of their "factory seconds" LRPs in the last few months.

The ad copy for the first version said that the primers had "slightly harder cups", but *should* "work fine for ANY unmodified firearms".

More recently the "factory seconds" LRPs they have advertised have said that the primers would have a failure rate of less than .01% (1/1000) due to "low charge" (a.k.a. an insufficient primer compound "charge").

Caveat Emptor would seem to apply...

I just bought 3k of SPP from Norma. Made by some offshore manufacturer. Worked perfectly in first batch of reloads. $50 / 1000. What's not to like? Check them out! (Norma website). Spend $150+ you get free shipping.

I've reloaded a few thousand of the Servicios Aventuras primers sold by Norma. My Dillon 550 press doesn't seat them completely, as it does, for example, Winchester SPP. This causes misfires in my 9mm pistols. If I use my Hornady hand primer seater, they are close to 100% reliable. Of course doing this pretty much negates the advantages of a progressive press. Once I have used all of the Servicios Aventuras primers, I won't be buying more.

I loaded about a hundred of the LRPs in 243.. All the one's I shot were fine. A friend shot some getting ready for Antelope and had no troubles either. The only trepidation I had was even though they were made in USA White River Energetics didn't have a good rep as of yet...But 60 a 1000 is really a good price as of lately on LRPs...which are mostly double that

Where did you get LRPs for that price? Were they American Reloading "seconds" or were they the Servicios Aventuras that BE Mike mentioned?
I'm on the American Reloading emailing list and check them every time I get an email from them - the best price I've seen on their "seconds" is $72 / 1000

American Reloading..274.99 for 5000 plus tax if your state has sales tax...$55.00 +tax... No I got mine from another wholesale establishment...................................BTW they show 82 cases left as of 10 minutes ago

Yup, you're right - I just found the latest email...
$275/5000 is a pretty good deal - compared to other sites prices.
Though the "low charge" disclaimer is kind of a put-off.

I think the problem was that some lots didn't meet gummit standards. got some of the first hard lot. LRPs shouldn't have too much trouble with hard primers. As far as what I read on the 2nd batch there could be less than.01 % with low primer charge..I got a 1000 of the originals for 60 bucks delivered. The way I look a it...I doubt there will be any real problems unless rel cooooo weather use with slow (ball esp) type powders. Going to try some of this 2nd batch. be getting some of them next week. And hey...At least I'll have LRPs at a reasonable price. don't use many LRPs anyway. They are selling at 120-140 per 1000 here. I supplied a hundred to a friend to try in his AR 10. I'm probably going sell my Armalite. Never shoot it... so don't load 308
