Why is Accurate #7 data so scarce....
I have some special low velocity loads for 9mm and .38 special with heavy bullets using Accurate #7 and I could use it for .357 magnum also. A great many combinations that I ask for list Acc #2 and #5 and omit anything with Acc #7. It seems like an excellent powder and I wonder why it isn't more versatile or at least more widely listed as usable in more loads?
PS: My low velocity loads with Acc #7 are VERY accurate.

Am using a fair amount of AA-7, but in upper range loads in 9mm (124/147 gns) and 357 mag (125 gns). In these examples, am getting better accuracy using Fed mag primers. It also did very well accuracy wise in 357 using the older Rem 180 gn sjhp, but not at the velocity's achieved with slower powders.
Have not actually tried it in lower pressure loads, but it was a tad sensitive working up 45 acp 230 plus p hp's.
Am guessing, like other slower powders, people just don't try it in lower pressure loads with lighter bullets.
When you use it with lower velocity heavy bullets in 9mm/38 special, it may still be close to upper pressures, or the longer bullets give it a more uniform burn?

I think the key is low velocity loads. IME, it works better with medium and higher pressure loads. It's big brother AA 9 really needs heavy bullets and a strong crimp to burn well. #7 might be approaching that.

Had a look through WesternPowdersHandloadingGuide-8.0?
Plenty info listed for AA#7.
Accurate #7
Has good info on this and other powders if you haven't checked them out yet.

Good Question !
I discovered Accurate Arms during a shortage ... the dealer had just gotten a large shipment , he was having a sale ... although I was looking for Unique ... the Dealer gave me a Reloading Guide (Edition 6.0 - free pamplet) and I left with Accurate Arms @2 , #5 , and #7 ...
I tried them , Liked them and went back for more #2 , #5 and ... #9 !
Seems to be more data for #9 ... don't know why , maybe it is too close in burn rate to #5 ... just don't know ... but I do like the AA powders ...
I use a lot of #2 and #5 ... and recieved an updated Loading Guide from Western Powders ... Edition 7.0 that had more data for all the AA powders , #2 , #5 , #7 and #9 ... These guides cover what I need to know ... I should break down and buy the big Western Powder's Reloading Manual !

#2 = Fast, #5 = Medium, #7 = Slow & #9 = Even Slower...
Kind'a like 700-X, WIN 231, Longshot & H110?
Cheers!

#7 sometimes launches the same projectile faster than #9 in some data books but usually slower.
I have not noticed a niche where it seems to excel but then I've only used #2, #5 and #9. Maybe a middle child that gets overlooked?

AA#7 works well for full power loads in 9mm with bullets of 124 grains or heavier as well as 10mm Auto full power loads. I'd say it is a little slower burning than Unique. AA#9 is a little faster burning than H110/W296.

I can buy powder from them online apparently but the reloading info is broken as far as I can tell. I select Pistol and it goes to the next page and just spins.

Funny - it does the same to me right now.
I like AA #7 for medium to hot 9mm Luger. I have used it for moderate 9x23 Winchester loads but prefer VV 3N37 for that purpose (more accurate in my pistol).
Looking at the Western Powder // Cartridge chart. AA #7 can work in a lot of catrdidges, but No. 5 has even more applications and No. 9 does better in .357 and .44 Magnum loads.

The Big Western manual has about twice the data the small pamphlet does.
