Ammo Boxes
I need some plastic ammo boxes for my 500 S&W Magnum handloads.
The first place I usually try for many items is Amazon and they're rarely beaten by competitors.
Midway, in my experience, has rarely if ever had the best prices on anything.
Well, I got 3 MTM 50 rd boxes for $5.50 ea and even with what I consider unreasonable shipping cost, is less than Amazon charging $12.05 ea and free shipping. Don

Just don't fill those plastic ammo boxes with much weight then lift using the flimsy handle:

MTM makes good products. I have a couple popular brand X boxes I definitely won't put much weight in.

There is a Cabela's store not far from me ... they sell their own brand Cabela's ... plastic ammo boxes ... they are well made and they were "affordable" ... drive over there and avoid all the pesky shipping charges ..
I just cheked and a 50 round 38/357 box is $3.99 ... not too bad !

Local Bass Pro doesn't have much of a selection. Why should they, they sell guns for which they have no ammo to purchase. Don

I use Berry's 50 round .38 spl. ammo boxes purchased from Sportsman's Warehouse thru their website, delivered to local store for $1.99 ea. I loaded 2,250 rnds. of .38 spl. this spring and that is what I used. Also buy military steel boxes when cheap, or from Harbor Freight when on sale.

I'm not familiar with those, but looked online at their products. Probably a good way to pack ammo, especially if you keep quite a few handloads on hand.

Not sure you are talking about ammunition boxes, like plastic boxes that hold 20 or 50 rounds, or larger ammo cans, .30 or .50. Harbor Freight has .50 GI type steel cans, also smaller .30 plastic cans, often they are on sale. eBay has about every size plastic ammo boxes you need, both new and used.
I have seven of the Harbor Freight .30 plastic cans, got on sale for about $3 each as I remember. To me, they are OK for storage.

Unless I am seriously mistaken, I think some people are confusing plastic 50mm ammo cans with the 50-round MTM boxes for the 500 S&W cartridge the OP is talking about.
The plastic 50mm ammo cans are for storing loose rounds or boxed ammo in any caliber. And in my experience, most of them are pretty much junk.
The MTM boxes, on the other hand, are for storing 50 rounds of a specific caliber of ammo (usually reloads). In this case the OP is talking about boxes for storing 50 rounds of 500 S&W cartridges.
Harbor Freight sells cheap, plastic, Chinese-made, 50mm ammo cans, but I have never seen any caliber of the 50-round MTM boxes for sale at Harbor Freight.
OP, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

COSTCO runs a tray of four 30cal mtm type ammo box’s for $19.95. I picked up 4 trays recently. Also, Amazon had mtm 50cal (tray of three) on sale for $34.00/free shipping. Picked up two of those.

Have used MTM plastic 100 rnd. boxes for all my reloads for years. Everything from 9mm up to 460 and they hold up well and are handy for packing to the range and storage as well. Got mine years ago at a local gun store .

I have started keeping my 50 and 100 round boxes in Craftsman 12" tool pouches. They make great range bags and hold weight well. They go on sale at Ace Hardware Christmas and Fathers Day.

Brownell's has them for 500 S&W (50 rds) for $3.24. I add a couple of ammo boxes almost every time I make an order.
Yesterday, I did that very thing. Unless it expired with 2024, Brownell's has a free shipping coupon online you find with a little searching.

MTM Rocks it when it comes to small ammo boxes. Good prices and they last a very long time. I have had mine for about 20 years and they hold up really well.
I should add that the flip-top boxes are the best. The slide style are a PITA to use as they never seem to pull apart easily and get stuck every single time. My usual choice is the 100-piece capacity boxes.
Graf & Sons usually is my go-to for purchase.
