Smile First Model .38 Baby Russian Value?

I looked at a 95%+ nickel specimen this morning. Nice and tight, correct, if not original hard rubber grips that appear to have shrunk somewhat back from the frame. They match the photos in SCSW. Bore was as expected, lightly pitted. All matching serial numbers. Otherwise very clean with just a few small spots of nickel loss. A friend is selling it and asked for an estimate of it's value. My guess was $850 to $950.....but these aren't my area of interest, so I thought I'd ask you guys for an opinion (ballpark) estimate. I know photos are the best way short of hands on, but I didn't have a camera.

Cheers;
Lefty

Edited to add;

4 inch barrel with patent dates. Last date 1874.

I'll be watching the replies here. I have one about 98%, EXC grips & bore, one of my Dad's guns. I'm into old S&W big bore DAs and Colt 1902 & 1905 Autos, might trade.

Here's my Baby Russian:
