Default .32 DA 2nd Model with Interesting Grips-Pawn Shop Find

Found this little .32 DA this morning that I think is a 2nd Model. It has a 3000 range serial number. I was attracted to the unusual floral grips with SW logo that are in really nice condition. The gun retains about 50% nickle but locks up tight, operates perfectly, and has a really nice bore with sharp grooves/lands. I paid $270.00 for it which is at the top but, I didnt have one in the collection. If anyone has anything to add or, if I have mis-identified it, please let me know. Thanks

I'm guessing that you used SCSW 3rd for confirmation of
model number. That's where I went, anyway. Certainly appears to be a 2nd model, with the rare floral grips, which not too many people
have seen. The book only advises 10-20% increase of price with those grips, but I had the impression from posts here on the Forum
that they might well be worth more. For the condition of the
mechanical condition alone, I'd have paid your price, irrespective
of which grips you had on it. I'm not a real collector, but I really
appreciate a good shooter.
I imagine you are well pleased with your new S&W, I know I
would be. Thanks for posting that nice pic, too. TACC1

Here is an interesting thread from this forum, late 2009, re: the floral grips. Sometimes these were referred to as the wild turkey grips. If you look close at the front portion of the grip, about 2/3 of the way down, you can see the wiley bugger.
How rare are the Floral Grips?

I feel like these grips are original. They do have the serial number of the gun written in pencil on the right grip and the amount of wear is consistant with the rest of the gun.

I would have bought that at that price in a heartbeat. You almost never see these with turkey grips. Let alone turkey grips in that kind of condition. Outstanding!
