.38 Safety Hammerless (3rd Model)
4" barrel, circa 1895. Photo flatters the gun a bit insofar as condition goes, but at least it's entirely original, no evidence of any refinishing and with all matching numbers. Bore is just beautiful and mechanically everything seems to be in order as well.

Goony, From the photo, it looks like someone's had that side plate off and didn't put it back correctly. Was it you? Ed. ( Nice specimen, are you selling it? )

Nope, wasn't me, although I agree it's been off. It wasn't especially badly reinstalled, but you can tell. I've since tapped it with a plastic hammer, and it's a tad better. I can't even get the stocks off to do a little cleaning - the screw is bound to the threaded escutcheon, which is rotating when you turn the screw.
