Default Keith Brown caught fondling a K22

Red handed, in the act! I was wandering the aisles can came upon some guy with his dirty mitts all over an early postwar gun. It had the large knob on the ejector, which instantly makes it desirable. Then I realized who the culprit was. Our own BIS45. The asking price was a pretty low $475 for a good 85% gun. OK, it was shooter grade, not a pristine collectors specimen. But he sure seemed interested. It surprised me it lasted until noon.

We'll wait and see if he reports a purchase.

For $475 I'd have been doing some fondling too! By the way, I hope you're feeling well and healthy Mr. Burg!

Unhappy

I wish I could find a good deal on a K-22 at a gunshow.

Default Mr. rburg

Did you have a conversation with Mr. Brown or not even acknowledge him at all? Did he make the purchase or are you waiting for him to admit his association with the K-22? Some fondling is allowed when there are such goodies on display, it always makes me feel better about my decision anyway. With your post, you have allowed the "Cat to exit the bag" and he may have wanted to keep it quiet.

I'm guessing from the tone of your reply that you don't know me or Keith, and have never met us. Yes, I consider Keith a friend. We blocked the aisle for a while talking, but we both wanted to see other things so we parted ways. He's one of the many posters here I look for at the OGCA show.

I'm home now and without the K-22, it was a nice one and well worth the asking price but you know what they say about snoozing and losing. It was nice to see you Dick, I think retirement will fit you pretty well and hope to see you more at the OCGA shows. As to blocking the aisles, at the Roberts center no one is allowed to lean against the wall where traffic flow would not be impeded leaving only the isles. smitholdtimer, I never mind the story on good deals getting out, it's the bad ones that are embarrassing!

I haven't made it to any gun shows at all this year. I hope to correct that before many more months go by. I doubt I'll be fortunate enough to find any good deals like that but hope is said to spring eternal.

Default rburg & bis45

I was hoping you guys were friends cause I had started to reply when the original post was submitted but refrained. Thought may be you were forbidden to fondle the old K-22's for a few minutes. You are entirely correct that I'm unacquainted with either of you but look forward to changing that in the future, may be in Orlando next year. Thanks for the replies. There was no tone intended, tongue in cheek only.

Oh they probably BOTH were "fondling" that K-22 but the guy who bought it (if this was the same gun), in fact brought it over to me, looking for a box for it...NICE gun really, and was a 4 digit serial number to boot... i found him a box, with another dealer but he did not want to pay the "price" ( $100?? )for a fairly, a bit better than GOOD, box to more than match his gun??? go figure.... had a very good show and was good to see some of you guys but missed a lot of the regulars, and gee, Dick, you never stopped ONCE to "rest" either and at your age too... at least Keith took a "time out" ( I had to sell him a bunch of pieces /parts, assorted grips...............)
Nice to see you guys again as usual, and thanks Keith.....

Keith:

I was looking forward to meeting you in person in Tucson this year. Sorry that you did not make it; however, the beautiful Kearsarge style stocks that you sent were one of the highlights of the auction. Thanks for your contribution!

I took 2 rests. The one up at the other end cap from you (Carl Dillons tables) and then a little later in the lunch area (the young ones along needed to get a soft drink.) At the 2nd pass by your table I was rested and on my 2nd wind.
