I missed a 3 digit K22 by hours yesterday. All I know is the first digit was a one. tyring to get more info, but around here getting info on a gun someone else bought is tough.

Something like that is a tough loss. I feel your pain.
But if I had been the one to grab it, I would not feel your pain.
At least we know they are out there.

The good stuff is starting to leave the safes, folks. The economy, pawn brokers and estate sales are starting to free up the safe queens and underwear drawer repositories. People are cleaning out grandpa/ma's closets, trunks and dressers, coming up with unknown gems. Good hunting!

Drew's 117 is safe.
I got confirmation that recent sale was K 130. Asked about condition - he said "perfect".

Non collectors don't have a clue as to why collectors go nuts over low or unique serial numbers. Let's not tell them.

I've still got K155 and K166. I missed out on K188 a few years ago. Blake (who lurks and is a member) had one down in the K141 or K142, but he sold it cheap (like a fool.) We'll abuse him next weekend at the gun show over it. A guy had K137 a while back. They call them gun shows. His was for show only, not for sale.
They really are out and about. If you carry cold hard cash (in large amounts), you do see them from time to time.
The guns in the K101-K150 are probably 1946 guns. Mine letter as early 1947. I'm too impoverished to request letters on guns I don't own, just to pinpoint the cutoff (if its even linear.)

Greetings all-
I have K577 which shipped on February 20th, 1947. I didn't realize that 3-digit K22's were so uncommon. I'm very pleased that I have mine.
Respectfully,
Mike Q.

I'm gonna be sick. Track the buyer down Charlie. There is always a slight chance that he doesn't know what he has.

If it's 101 and you haven't got it yet,you ain't tryin' hard enough. If it was sombody I knew that had it,he would sell it or trade it to me just to keep me from pestering him to death!

My standards are lower, so I'd feel that way even about 111.
Whatever you do, don't tell Drew where it is. Or better yet, mislead him!

Oh, I'm guessing Drew has had many attempts by those here to be misled. Good luck with it, he numbers me and Charlie among his friends, in addition to our esteemed lawyer from the gulf coast. If it was possible to mislead him, one of the pro's would have already done it.

Hi, was this three digit K22 referenced by the OP at a shop in NC? If not, my local shop also got in a three digit K22 this week and it sold almost immediately. Sadly I missed out on it. I happened to be at the shop today when the guy was picking it up. Price was $820. It had some wear but looked pretty decent.

No I did not get the serial. The shop owner was standing there so I talked to him briefly about the gun. The gentleman buying it did not turn around or join in the conversation. I assumed he didn't want to be disturbed, so I left without asking to see the gun, which of course I wanted to do. The gun had a little holster wear on the muzzle, some wear on the frame, the stocks looks okay. I would guess somewhere between 90% and 95% from a distant look and no handling.
