Default Hand Eject 1910

I bought this revolver from my local gun dealer about a year ago. He wrote it up as a model 10. When I went on the Internet things didn't match up so I contacted Smith & Wesson.
Here is what they came up with.
S&W M&P .38Spl. 1910 Hand Eject 3rd Change 4" Nickel. Grips not sure but may be aftermarket.
I find this site very interesting and informative. Glad its here.
Bill

What you have is a Model 1905 Hand Ejector, 3rd change, original nickel finish with a 4 inch barrel. The grips are after market, but probably have been with the gun for awhile. I can't tell the material from the photo. They are the Magna style, and that style grip wasn't made until the later 1930s. If they are old ivory, they are worth more than the gun. Ed.

Actually, I think those grips may be Franzite. Franzite shrinks with time, and these are smaller than the gun's steel frame. I don't see the grain that would indicate real ivory.

Otherwise, yes: 1905 third change from about 1909/10.
