At least, that's what it looks like to me. Some of you may remember my earlier post: http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-ha...44-incredible-shrinking-1917-also-nickel.html Well, I've filled in the gaps for the shiny version and extended it even larger with the S&W .500.
From top to bottom:
My first Ladysmith .22 Long, overbuffed and nickeled but with real mother of pearl grips.
Regulation Police in .32 Long, with imitation MOP grips. I looked repeatedly for real MOP but I suspect the RP grip style was just too odd for there to be many out there. These are from tombstonegrips.com. They come oversize and have to be fitted.
M&P in .38 Special with real MOP handles.
Triple Lock in .44 Special with real MOP. I've posted pictures of this gun before with the Ladysmith.
.500 S&W with old Tyler's Tru-Fit imitation MOP grips that I picked up via Gunbroker. Cost a bit more than the $5.00 penciled on the box. This illustrates that the .500 grip frame truly is the same as a round butt K frame. I don't know if anyone makes round-to-square imitation MOP grips - if they do, that would've been nice to find.
And for you youngsters out there, here is the inspiration for these two posts:
