Opinions Please (44 Magnum Roll Markings)
Below is a picture of the caliber roll mark on one of my 29's. Everytime I look at it, it gives me the feeling it has been reblued (look at the G last M in "magnum" they are not all there). None of the other roll marks give me that notion and there are no marks on the left side of the grip frame that lead me to think that way either.....my question is, could the stamp simply not have punched the whole letter?
Opinions please, tell me the truth I'm a big boy....

I wouldn't worry. The totality of the gun speaks to original finish. I can think of a couple of explanations for the weak characters, one being a slightly irregular surface that didn't take the whole impression, the other involving a worn/damaged die that needed to be replaced.
I have a couple of mid-'50s revolvers in excellent condition on wich the four line address fades as you move from left to right. The right end of the lines is very shallow and looks almost polished away. But the fact that pattern is seen on more than just one revolver tells me it was just a weak impression that created it, not a repolish and reblue.

post a good pic of the side plate and monogram and we'll have a much better idea if it has been refinished.

like i said, none of the other roll marks look suspect and the sideplate fit is perfect

I have a 29 no dash where the trademark is very light. This was caused by agressive polishing at the factory.Your gun looks original. DSC_0003.jpg

No expert but I see no obvious signs of polishing. The light rollmarks happen sometimes.
