Default Finding Great Revolvers For Carry

It has gotten to the point that I'm now carrying my beater pre-12 on a regular basis. It replaces the Kahr MK 9 Micro stainless, which is a fine gun, but it's hard to beat a K frame snub nose. There was a thread about all this some time ago, with many varying opinions, but the argument is naturally a personal one. I am starting to lean more to the K frame. I think I've heard the pros and coms, but this is where I am leaning. I might even come close to bringing my best friend into the camp. We will see.

I am in your court. I'll take a K or J frame any day if the week over any semi on the market. 1 well placed revolver shot will beat 14 zig-zagging shots every time. If it's got some carry wear and a few finish defects, like minor rust spots here or there, all the better, because I can relax about not inflicting finish damage to a collector grade gun. What matters is the mechanics, do they all still work well? Sounds to me like your pre-12 is a perfect CCW revolver.

I carried a Kahr CW45 until I discovered how perfect the J-Frame is.

Now I carry this:

1985 Model 60 with a bobbed hammer and a set of Eagle Secret Service stocks.

The thing is that when I started using a Bianchi 100 inside the waistband holster the gun just disappears and is comfortable to wear all day.

I came to realize that the best gun was the one I carried, and that's the J-Frame.

I actually wanted to upgrade the model 60. I had been messing around with old top breaks and I liked the grip safety, so I bought this:

Sadly, the collector in me won't allow me to actually put more wear on it, given that it is a bug screw pre model 42. That, and it turns out normal stocks don't work on it.

So, I'm back to the Model 60. I would like to upgrade to a bobbed hammer early 36 eventually, but I need to find one sufficiently worn to justify carrying it.

J frames are really the best carry gun, bar none.
