These are the two other stocks the guy had. The dark pair fit a 1950 .45 Commercial. The birds eye maples don't fit any of my small frame S&W's.
I think they are Ropers. I'll let you decide as to why they are or are not. Later, I'll show you why I think they are.

Guess we'll just have to wait, to know why you think they are Ropers. Without seeing
the inside of the grps, I would not have thought so.

What is happening with the barrels ?

Regards, Mike Priwer

I'll do pictures of the insides. I'll also show you why they may be Ropers.
Nothing on the barrels, but, it is only the second show I've had them on the table.

Here are pictures of the inside. No jig holes on any of the three pair.
I need to explain something. I told a fellow SWCA member I want to display my Ropers at the SWCA Annual. He asked if I'd like to display a pair he has in its original Roper shipping box. I said yes. After I bought the two shown here, I looked at the pair he lent me. Other then the writting on the inside of the cased set and a groove on the thumb rest they are identical to his Ropers. So are all three pair copies? I'm honestly at a loss. By the way, the pair from the box are on the left.

Interesting story. I had a pair once, in the original shipping box, that were not
checkered. Seems to me that they had the jig holes. Certainly the few pair that I
do have, have the jig holes.

To me, the grips do not have the Roper contour that I am used to seeing. And, their
proportions don't look quite like what I would expect. On the other hand, they may
well be Ropers. I don't know.

Regards, Mike

Here are the Ropers (?) on my Model 631.

I'm not saying they are Ropers, but, the pair from the Roper box don't have the jig holes either. Every pair I have has the jig holes. As a matter of fact, when I looked at them at the show, that was the first thing I looked for.
