Anyone know if there has ever been a speedloader manufactured for these old guns? I doubt it and I haven't ever run across one, but still curious. Would be fun to use one with my Model of 1905, fourth change! Speed strips would be ok but definitely not the same. Thanks.

Have you tried a standard Model 10 speedloader? A .38 Special rim is .440" and a .32WCF is .408". It might hold with a little wiggle. The 6 chambers are centered on the same diameter so the holes will line up.

No I haven't tried that but thanks for the comment.

Short answer is no. At least with the HKS #10 .32-20s will fall out. The .32-J is too small in diameter, and if you were to enlarge the holes enough you will probably cut through the outside of the "drum" of the speed loader. The radius of the charge holes is too small for the K-frame. Don't know about the .32-K, I don't recall ever seeing one of them!

The Bianchi "Speed Strips" will work pretty well for .32-20, but they will too easily fall out if pocket carried, but will be OK if carried in a pouch.

tep,

Bravo. Muley Gil's got ya covered with a simple solution!

The rim difference between 32 H&R/327 Fed Mags and 32-20 is ~ .032" so that's only .016" to hone from the each side of the holes in the 32K speedloader.

About a 10 minute job with 800 grit paper wrapped on a split rod chucked in your Mikita/power drill!

Might have to work the star on it a little to if it hits the case body or won't release, but the 32H&R speed loader would be the best one to start with. I use one for model 29s for my 45 colt guns with no problems, The 45 colt and 44 mag have same rim diameter, but the star portion works on the fatter bodies of the 45.

I have no shortage of .38 and .44 speed loaders, but have never had the need to use them. In fact, I am not sure where I put them. I find the most practical and effective speed loader to be the full moon clip.

Fortunately the case bodies are even closer to the same size than the rims.

The 32-20 case body will only be .007" closer to the star. Might not even need any work on the star, or minimal at worst.
