Original blue box for a 1956 Combat Magnum

Does anyone have a good picture of an original blue box for a 1956 Combat Magnum. I have one that has a label pasted over what the box was originally for. Cannot see under it and I do not want to remove it. The label says Smith and Wesson, .357 Combat Magnum, Bright 3570, 4 inch. Partial white serial number in grease pencil on bottom. Thanks for any help. Big Larry
 
I'm guessing this is a cardboard 2 piece box correct? It was very commonplace for the factory to slap a printed label on less common/popular models in the early blue box era. Now if this is the "Combat Magnum" presentation case, then YOU need to post pics.
 
Here are 4. The second from the bottom is stuck over a Model 15 embossed end label. Probably doesn't answer your question as the earliest number on the bottom is K318xxx

Larry - I have a friend that has one with the box. I will see if I can get over to his house and get a picture of it.
 
I thank you all for your answers. Mine is similar to some of those posted except mine says, BRIGHT. Does anyone know, or have one, with a loose label so we may see what type of box they actually used? Mine came with a 1960 vintage M19-0 and I am now seeing that is not the correct box for a M19-0. So, a swap is in order. It does have the correct wax paper and the aluminum fluted handle long tapered blade SAT. It also has an early M19 brochure not correct for the pre M19. Thank you all for your info and pics. Big Larry

Thanks for that Chuck. Most of us can only dream of the time we stumble into one of those. I am fortunate to have the original box for my 1937 K22 Outdoorsman and my 1959 vintage M48-0. Thanks again. Big Larry

Thanks for bringing this subject back around. When you a referring to a swap is in order i am not following you. I am intrigued by the bright wording on the label as I do not think I have noticed that before. Did you mention if the serial number was written on the bottom of the box. I would like to mention that I do not see early combat magnum boxes come up for sale often. I do see the pre Bangor Punts boxes mostly dash 2's for sale on ebay from time to time but I do not think I have seen an early Combat Magnum box grace its site in awhile.

It is numbered to the gun, but I don't think they are a match. I think the top is from a pre M19 and the bottom is from a M19. The bottom is oil soaked. I am not sure all early Combat Magnums had the bright finish. My CM and M19-0 both have bright finishes. Ebay has been a great source of boxes and tools. I know about the Sparta boxes. S&W's use of the term "Bright" refers to a bright blue finish. ".357" Combat Magnums were finished in bright blue or nickel unless special ordered with some other type of finis. Bright-Nickel for example (a two tone revolver). Bright is usually seen only on boxes and sometimes on the invoice.
