14-1 new to me
Just traded into this 14-1. The K414xxx serial number puts it as 1960 DOS. Bore is nice and shiny, not sure if grips are original or not, but they are era correct.
There is bluing loss on both sides of barrel at muzzle. Not much on right side but scattered loss on left side about 2" long. Very difficult to photograph in natural light. It has the .500 hammer and the standard .265 trigger. Lock up is good. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I think I read somewhere that in the -1 engineering change there were not too many revolvers produced, not rare by any means.
I'm into this trade $395 Those grips have to be worth at least
$175 or so.

Very nice 14-1 and very nice stocks even if not original. I think the originals would have been Diamond Walnut. Maybe Targets with the Target Hammer?

Nice. The LGS has two 14-2's I have been wanting to bite down on. So far I have resisted. Wife says we need a new fridge. I believe a 14-2 would be far more fun.

I just love a model 14 of any vintage (got 4 of them myself). Seems like they are always in such nice condition too. Yours is a real treasure and not too many -1's out there either as said. Looking forward to a range report. Enjoy

Good grief.......didn't even notice that hair when I was doing the photos. That one came from my recently deceased ***** cat. The back drop I was using was a blanket he liked to snooze on. Thought I had that cleaned pretty good.
I'v got a 14-2 SAO that is absolutely a fantastic shooter. It's got one of the smoothest actions of all of my Smiths

Wowz. That thing is gorgeous. I thought the hair was on purpose to show how deep the coloring of the stocks are. LOL.
Super fantastic. I'm guessing it will shoot as good as it looks.

Certainly a nice 14 you have there! What's not to like about them? I only have 1 from 1977. It is a -3. Bob

More fun yes, but for once I would have to agree that an appliance would have to come first... you need something to keep the beer cans cool while they are full so you can then have some good targets when they are empty! Compromise and buy just one of the 14s and a good used fridge. Problem solved!

Beautiful guns! Thanks to all for sharing. Makes me want to break out my 14 and go shoot it - and maybe pony up for some nicer grips!

I lucked out and got one prior to the Model numbers being used. Have the box and tools but not the paperwork. I would sure like to find that. They are fine guns.

Good for you! Three of those shown in my pics are from prior to 1958 also. One is a 5 screw and the other two are 4 screw K-38 Masterpiece revolvers from 1956.
I have a couple more that aren't pictured. My first collecting goal was to accumulate one of each major variant from 1946 until 1982. At this point, I'm only missing one. Two of mine are factory Single Action Only. I have some other duplicates also.
It takes time to acquire them, especially if you are after guns in high graded condition. But it is worth the wait.

managed to swing the new fridge AND one of the 14's. Also managed to find a Burris scope base for it and have a reddot on the way as well. Off to Bullseye land for this gun!
