Good morning,

I purchased a Smith and Wesson revolver several weeks ago and thought that I had it identified. Now I am not so sure.

No model number
hand ejector
serial number on frame, cylinder, and inside grip
6120XX
.32 Smith and Wesson Long
3" barrel
fixed sight with ramp front (paint was added by previous owner)
4 screws none in front of trigger guard

Attached photos

Thank you for your help

Welcome! You have a .32 Regulation Police from between 1953 and '56. Jim (Hondo44) is the local expert and wrote the book on these. No, really! :)

Hope this is helpful.

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! The .32 Regulation Police has a square butt grip frame while the .32 Hand Ejector has a round butt grip frame. Otherwise, they function identically and parts interchange. Your gun is built on the 1953 New I frame and square butt J frame grips should fit if you choose to change the shoes. Hondo44 should be along soon to provide any more info you might need.
