I displayed these three revolvers at the Symposium week before last and thought those who weren't able to attend might like to see them.

They were engraved by Heide-Marie Hiptmayer who was born in Austria and began her training at the Ferlach Technical School of Firearms in 1957. After graduation in 1961 she went to work for Franz Sodia. After 10 years with Sodia, where she received her Master certificate, she and her husband Klaus moved to Montreal to work for Browning. In 1972 she and her husband started their own business with Heide-Marie engraving and Klaus making stocks and firearms. Passed way too soon in 1998 at the age of 56.

It is not known when these three revolvers, a Triple Lock 44, a 2nd Model HE 44, and a 53-2 were commissioned or by whom. The motif appears to be Scandinavian on all three but could also possibly be Canadian Arctic Circle.

If anyone has other examples of Hiptmayer's work I'd love to see it.

I'll admit. I belonged to the forum for a couple of years before someone offered to sponsor me to join the SWCA. Then, I belonged to SWCA for several years before my son convinced me to go to a Symposium. Did NOT know what I was missing.

Today, you don't need a sponsor to join SWCA. Today is a good day to join and attend the next symposium. Take it from an old guy. Jeff's scratched up S&Ws are stunning but only the tip of the iceberg!

Thanks Jeff.

OUTSTANDING!!! I love the guns, the finish, the inlays, the over the top full coverage engraving, and your photographs.:) Now you need some kind of presentation case to showcase them.:D

Those are the only three H-MH engraved S&Ws that I am aware of. A very special collection indeed.

Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!!!
