JSR III inspired this thread. He stated he enjoys his $500 to $900 revolvers, so let's see what's still out there. I made the cutoff $1000, because it's a nice round number, plus my entry wouldn't make the cut otherwise—and I get to make the rules.

So, to play the game, the revolver must have been purchased in the '20s, so on or after 01 January 2020, after the Covid run up, it must be an N frame hand ejector, the total cost including shipping, sales tax, and FFL fees must be $1000 or less, and you MUST give the total sales price. So, this could be fun, as the criteria means that you probably got a bargain (I sure did!), or a basket case you might be too embarrassed to post. I'll fire first.

.455 Hand Ejector Second Model Civilian, purchased off of the forum June 2023, total cost $940 shipped plus $15 FFL fees for a total cost of $955.

You started this in the 1896 to 1961 section, are we limited to guns earlier than 1961? If not, I might have a candidate or two. It's been awhile, I'll have to check the spreadsheet for dates for others, but this one (6 inch 27-2, 1979) came home last week for $811 OTD. No box/papers/etc. although a soft case was included. From one of the larger retail chain stores "fine gun room."

I bought this one in 2020. IIRC the price was in the $650 ballpark, shipping included. Yes, it's refinished, hence the low price. It came with M1917 stocks, shown. Haven't bought an N-Frame since.

Sorry the picture isn't any too great - my junky old camera is about to give up the ghost.

Here are a few

This is a fun thread. Great idea OP !
Top left is a well used .44 3rd model HE I purchased at a FW gun show for $800. It was a busy show...first since covid had shut things down. Top right is a .44 Mt Gun I purchased off a local OK forum for exactly $1000 cash.
Bottom left is a 27-2 S serial that I purchased for roughly $900 plus tax from a local OKC gun store. I added Kens grips as the existing grips were rubber if I recall. Bottom right is a .45 Colt Mt. Gun I bought at Rays in Dallas for $850. It is new in box and every indication it is factory fired only. FWIW...

With the exception of the .44 Mt. Gun (Purchased about 4 months ago) the other 3 were purchased in 2021 or early 2022.

I have not had any luck finding sub $1000 N frames I wanted to buy since...

I didn't purchase mine, but I do have some money in it.
.44 HE 2nd Model shipped June 1926 to Frank Hamblin Deputy Sheriff, Potter County, Texas.

This gun was a project in my dad's desk. He had a gun store before his death in 1992. I found the frame with a few parts installed in a box of stuff from the gun store. Later I found a zip-lock bag with most of the other parts. Had to buy a few.
The trigger guard was bent to the point the trigger did not work. The frame was bent so that the barrel pointed up a bit so that it would not latch.
Sent the gun and the parts to Mbrgr1 in Oklahoma. He generously agreed to assemble and repair the gun at no charge. Think I paid him about $60 for shipping and a few supplies he used getting it going. Bought some correct grips for $150. Maybe another $60 for the parts I had to buy.
