Frame Size Comparison
There have been a few threads lately asking about the size differences of various frames. Thought it might be interesting to put up a couple of pics that show various frame sizes.
Top to bottom: N, K, J, I and M frames...
Comparison of N to M.
Cylinder and cylinder window comparison of I frame and J Frame.
No matter the frame size, I am always amazed at the craftsmanship of the older S&W Hand Ejectors.

kscharlie, now you need an X frame! Seeing a 500 magnum next to that M frame revolver would be hilarious! Thanks for sharing.

The oddest thing about the monstrous X frame is why they chose to use the RB K frame for the grip frame...I don't think I've ever seen one without the grips so correct me if I'm wrong... ...Ben

Very helpful. The I frame to me just looks disproportionate. I don’t know if it’s the sticks or what but it just looks difficult to even hold and present comfortably.

I don't have huge mitts, but do have long fingers. There was a comment in another thread about the I frame being tiny. I can shoot my I frames rather comfortably, especially the Regulation Police models. The M frame truly is tiny! And it is difficult to hold. But then, again, so is any version of the Model 1.

Great posts! Comparison of S&W medium frame (K) and Colt medium frame (E). Model 10 vs Colt Official Police. Both .38 specials and probably the two most issued LE revolvers for years. The Colt is slightly larger and heavier. You can tell the difference in felt recoil.

Great pic, kscharlie, didn't realize that there was that much difference between the N and K frames.
