When I got home from Tulsa last night, this was waiting for me. It is a 1917 Military was has a factory rework date of 6-71 on it along with R-S in a rectangle. It has been reblued, and a Model 27 rear sight added as well as a higher front sight. It does not appear to have been fired since it was redone

Chris

I plan to shoot it. It had Ropers on it when I got it. The factory refinish and the other work is excellent. The timing and lock up are perfect

Is the front sight blade pinned? The gun should be a great shooter. If you can't find an original 1917 Commercial Target with factory adjustable rear sights, your gun makes a strong second best example and probably at a lot less cost than the originals that are running close to $20K now.

Here are some other pics. The front sight base is dovetailed. I put on a set of Kearsarge grips for this pic
As soon as this weather up here in PA breaks, I'll take it out back and shoot it.

Nice gun, Gary. I'd love to find one like that. I bet it will be a jewel at the range.

Re: The Kearsarge grips. After assessing them, what is your analysis?

Good to visit with you at Tulsa.

Bob

PS:
Mike, where and how much less than 20K?
B.
