I recently got a model 10-6 in a trade deal. It has a 4" heavy barrel and target grips. It's in great shape, with the finish about 98%, the action smooth but tight, and the barrel nice and sharp/clean. It shoots great, too. I love fixed-sight S&W revolvers. This one groups around two inches at 12yards firing double action off-hand in a rapid string. My question is, can the model 10-6 handle a modest diet of +p ammo? I don't want to shoot the +p stuff often, but I might like to carry this revolver when light weather clothing prevents me carrying my N-frame 22-4. I would want to be able to put twelve or eighteen rounds thru it occasionally just to keep in practice, and use standard 38special fodder for the more frequent and higher round-count shooting sessions. It is not marked +p on the barrel, but it certainly feels pretty robust. I'd appreciate a verdict from the experts so I don't damage the thing. I've got a set of magna-style pearl grips coming for it this week, which will make it more slender for carry.
