Hi guys,

I have a model 19 in new condition, was fired 12 times, 4" barrel. Pinned and recessed with the S&W seal on the left side not in the removeable plate.

I have the box and papers, how much it will cost today?

Sorry for the lousy picture, the blueing is perfect, what you see in the picture are reflections of light.

Inside the frame at the Joke MOD 19-4 # 78-K 781X (I replaced the last number with an X)

When I bought the gun in the 80's the cut out for the speed loader in the grips was spanking new change, what mystify me was that in the pictures in the magazines (Shooting Times, Guns And Ammo) the S&W seal was big and on the right plate.

Thank you for your help

There were a lot of commemoratives made in that serial number range. Since they had the logo of the group they were commemorating on the sideplate, the trademark was placed on the left.
Your 19-4 is most likely a left over frame from one of those runs.

Hi,

A shooter 19-4 any barrel length is in the ranger of $500 in California. I lucked out and bought this one for $269 out the door. I had to do some minor cleanup and remove some surface rust but the revolver turned out fine. Anyway, I seen model 19s from $450 to $650. With the serial number you indicated it looks to be around 1980. Mine is a 46K3xx which put production in 1979.

Good luck,

Even well-worn, beat up P&R M19s sell in gunshops in my area for $550. And when I say "sell", I mean within a few days of arriving in the display case.

So I would say, at least in my area, $650 sounds about right for the one pictured.

Thank you for confirming what I suspected, Yes, I remember seeing some commemoratives with big Texas rangers badges or wathrever in the side plate in the early 80's.

I purchased this one from a forum member a few years back, I paid a little over 500.00 for it. Haven't shot it once.
