Yes, there are some stocks that are valuable. S&W changed styles over the years as well as changed models of guns. Just like anything, very low production results in rare models, and that usually equals more value (after several years). There are several posts discussing and picturing different grips. In the SCSW3 there is a section devoted to just the different styles of stocks. First there are the sizes, M, I, J, K, L, N, and now X Frame sizes. Each frame size requires a different stock size. (Except L, which is the same as a K frame size.) Then within each size may be a Service stock, Magna Stock, Target Stock or Combat Stock, depending on the era the gun was built. This doesn't even touch on the antique's, which have several more frame sizes. To fully understand, you need to see the article in the Standard Catalog of S&W 3rd edition.
