Millet sights defunct?

I know the company still exists. Owned by Bushnell now.

I'm thinking in terms of the Millet rear that came on my 28-2. Its rear blade is dinged up and some of the while outline is gone. This past Friday before the screw sheared and it departed the gun I was trying to set zero and couldn't get the blade to move right so I tried a click to the left and the blade AND adjustment screw moved to the left under pressure.

I spoke to customer service yesterday and they didn't seem to think they could get service parts any more. They are supposed to check and e-mail me.

Don't know anything about Millet except to say I never understood why people took the perfectly good rear sight off their S&W and replaced it with the Millet unit. (Just kidding. :D )

I guess it does have what some consider to be an advantage of the full blade-only presentation - that is to say, only the blade is visible from the shooter's position, the body of the sight being concealed. If you prefer that sort of layout and cannot get your Millet running again, Hamilton Bowen has an S&W sight with the full blade-only presentation. It is available in a variety of styles, including a white outline.

Happened to my 28-2 two or more owners back. I didn't do it.
 
Millet sights are very good sights and some shooters prefer them. Their adjustable rear sights for 1911's were extremely popular with shooters and competitors alike. I have a set of Millet sights on a Custom 1911 and I love them them.

I know that the older sights are not made anymore, and Midway & Brownell's are the last places that I saw them. Every now and then on eBay. I would check those places. As far as the quality, as the saying goes, one man's junk is another man's treasure. I have owned two Millett white outline rear sights and a red ramp replacement front sight. They were as good as any that I have seen. My $.02 worth.

I've got Millett sights on a bunch of my revolvers including the 625 I compete with and I think they're great. I've had them for many years and I've had no problems with any of them. The sight picture is really clean.

I agree with Madmikeb.I have Millett sights on about 10 of my S&W revolvers from 22 cal. to 44 magnum and love the sight picture.Also have had zero problems with them.Two of the guns were shot many years ago in metallic silhouette competition with these sights and no problems.I wish they were still made.
 
I know this is an old thread but as anyone ran into a stock pile of Millet Sights? I'm attching my post from a couple of other forums below.

"Does anyone have or know where I can get out of production Millet front sights? I have a 1911 with a Millet Model CA00010 Rear Sight and a Millet Front Sight, I don't know the model number but it might be SO31219. It is a narrow tenon stake on front sight. I found the sight after it came off this weekend but it broke between the base and the tenon. Alternatively, does anyone think a new stake on tenon could be welded to this blade?"
 
Getting hard to find! Put a set,Front & rear, on a 6' Securtity Six.Great improvement in sight picture. put orange front sights on 2 stuby security sixs sure help for quick pick up.
