Thumbs up

Those itty-bitty groups answer the oft asked question "why do you like them ol' revolvers!?!"

Good shootin' with an outstanding revolver.

Thank you gentlemen! Bless my shaky old hand. :-)

Right then! I also had sold my pre-18 some years back...and regretted it!

This 18-2 fills the bill in its stead.

The Uncle Mikes Grips you see on the 81-2 were the ones I purchased when I had the Pre-18! They fit my hand better then the S&W wood Magna stocks. When the Pre-18 went, the stocks stayed.

Well done! Have you tested ammo to find these Elys do so well?

Congratulations on the purchase as those Model 18's are hard to beat. Last year I bought a 18-3 and a 18-4. The 18-4 is Brenda's and the 18-3 is mine. They are a blast to shoot and she puts 6 out of 6 in the bulleye. She has a damaged wrist from a motorcycle accident and can't stand any heavy recoil so this is her defensive weapon. I would not want her to tatoo my chest with it and if it works for her that's great with me.

Great gun, nice shooting. I love my 18-3. I shoot a lot of clay birds on the hillside at 30-40 yards at my club. The 18 is one of my "go to" guns for the birds and the small pieces.

Dad-gummit, I wish I had bought a model 18 when they were in production. I have been looking for a good shooter at a price that I feel is correct. Too many folks with shooter grade guns see the prices that collector grades bring and price their stuff too high, not accounting for wear.

Anyway that is a good shooting gun. I understand perfectly the use of non-factory grips on a shooter. I don't hesitate changing grips to have a better fit and improve my scores.

I have a model 17-3 and it likes most match grade ammo. The crazy thing is several years ago a local discount store had Blazer 22's on sale and I purchased several bricks. The Blazers will shoot as well as any premium ammo in my 17. I've tried some of the newer lots of Blazer because I'm running a little low on the first one's I bought on sale. They shoot well enough so I'm encourged that I will find a great lot to buy a larger quantiy of.

I hope I can find a good shooter grade 18 before too long while my eyes are still good for factory sights. I'm getting a little "long in tooth" to continue seeing factory revolver sights really well.

Hi Joe, There are NIB, current production, 4 inch barrel, K frame .22's on gunbroker right now. They do have the lock, MIM parts, and a Patrige front sight. Figure to pay in the $700.00 range.

Now, as you're looking for a good shooter at a price you I feel is correct; you will have to have infinate patience and hope a deal falls into your lap as did in mine (I paid $475.00, and figure he gave me a real-deal).

You may have to just suck it up and pay the going freight on a shooter grade gun.

Simply put: 18's just don't come up on the market too often!

They ain't getting any cheaper next year either!
