Default Model 36 Acquired

Acquired an older blued snubby Model 36 yesterday with a pinned barrel and was curious about it's age.

Serial # on the heel is 7J32XX with the numbers 42658 on the yoke.

Thanks in advance.

That number in the frame recess which is exposed when you swing out the cylinder was used as a reference in matching up components during manufacture. It has no significance beyond that.

Your revolver most likely shipped in 1971.
