I just purchased a really nice model 17 (no dash) from a guy here in Indiana. The finish is almost perfect but I'm pretty sure the target stocks aren't original. Anyway, the serial number is:
K4295XX and it is blued with a 6" barrel, adjustable rear site and red on the front site. It actually looks a lot like an Outdoorsman that I have.

If anyone has a born date for this pistol, it will be appreciated.
