Wow, thats about as glaring a defect as I have seen. It would take a certain kind of person to not disclose that, and I don't mean that as a compliment. I can see by the pic thats its a 53. I've got a mint 8-3/8 4 screw that I have had for years I know that they're not easy to find. Good luck with getting this straightened out. I would be on a rant too!

Ouch! I hope you get your money back too. If not post the scoundrels name. Not posting pics of the obvious is no different than lying about the condition. Good luck.

Who is this seller so we can avoid him? That is uncalled for. I hate shady people let alone in this hobby.

This wasn't an auction. I am not prepared to "OUT" this guy
until he has had a chance to do the right thing--by Monday I hope,
he has made no attempt to contact me back in 6
hours. Pete

Blood perhaps? I always expect a "surprise" or two when I buy online but that is just BS!

Please follow up with the outcome.

You are being smart for holding out on the info... why give up all your leverage? This looks like a re-blued cylinder with a nasty carbon inclusion.

I bought a 17-3 out of Florida on this Forum that was like that and worse.
It was supposed to be LNIB. Guy claimed he'd lost his glasses.

I was able to return the revolver for a complete refund including shipping. Thanks in part to Parra, the old owner.

Really the only bad experience here over many years and guns.
I've had so many positive buying experiences here I've just come to expect them all to go that way.

I hope the seller makes it right. But it's hard to imajine what he was thinking.

Emory

Holy cow!!
That is disgusting.
How does the seller not disclose something like that?!

Its sellers like that ruin it for the honest sellers.

Ive had alot of transactions on other forums and take my feedback VERY seriously.

This is just unacceptable period

I'd say that it was not from this Forum is noteworthy information you should have included in your initial post.

Ironically a 28-2 in nice shape for $395 is "too good to be true" now.

ROTFL! If he couldn't see the condition of the gun, how the heck did he see to post the ad? LOL!

The only guns I have ever bought without handling them have been milsurp and C & R guns where you expect flaws. I have a few dealings with forum members and they have all been excellent!

I'm calling BS on the lost glasses excuse. He passed it to you hoping you'd let it go. I'm glad he's communicating and hope things work out.
Of the few online purchases I've made, I've been burnt only once. A Tenn. dealer (not a forum member here to my knowledge) but the sorry *** totally mis-represented the condition that even with lost glasses was an outright lie and he refused to even discuss making it right.

Hope this is resolved to your satisfaction (full refund).
I've had such good luck buying (mostly on GB) that I continue to do so.
I've found most of the sellers I've dealt with have been honest.
I always read their feedback to get a sense of who they are.
I did encounter one problem with a S&W model 41, but the seller agreed to refund all my money, and we left mutual positive feedback.

Good luck getting your money back. I bought an M51 nickel from a guy in the "innanet", and it had a .22 LR cylinder on it instead of the .22 Mag advertised. The seller claimed that "he didn't know" and that it was now my problem. It's at BCA right now getting reamed to the proper chambering. I guess that adds up to getting reamed twice on the same revolver. I hope you have better luck than I.
