Default Model 32-1

I cruised out to my friend's gun shop today to see what few guns he had. I left with a blued Colt Cobra and an S&W Model 32-1.

Here's the Cobra:

Unfortunately, our 32-1 fills an unnecessary niche. When it was the original Terrier on an old I-frame, it was the smallest 38 made by S&W. Unfortunately, when they went to the later frame, you got a gun as large as the Chief Special but with less power than the 38 Special. It's an interesting and collectible piece, but was less popular than the Chief for the reason mentioned.

That said, what you have there is a neat little gun, and a good example of the type, but more useful for filling a hole in a collection than as an actual CCW for daily usage. Enjoy it and its C*** companion as well.

Regards,
Froggie

And I have a soft spot for the Terrier. My father started his LEO career in 1953. He carried the 32-1 as his BUG from 1969 until retirement in 1984.

You mentioned that the shop owner is your friend, yet he sold you those two "Dogs". Although what Green Frog is true, your .38 S&W M 32-1 is a very attractive J-frame revolver in very good condition and the D.S. is exactly what its name implies, Special! I think you did good! I'd enjoy friends such as you have!
