factory front sight
I wrote this off as an after market/gunsmith front sight when buying it, but the LGS guy said it could be factory. Its mid 70's gun, a K22 17-3.
So what do you think ?

I think it is a gunsmith job, but I am no expert. The factory patridge blades I am familiar with always had the red or yellow insert "hanging" on the front face of the blade. I sent a 6-inch Model 19 in once to have a red insert installed and that was what I got back instead of the red ramp I was expecting. I guess I should have been more specific. I never liked the factory arrangement but I guess it worked. Anyway, if the set up you have gives you a decent sight picture, I would prefer it to the factory installations I have seen.

I do get a nice pick up of the front sight, and my old eyes need all the help they can get. The gun otherwise looks new, no signs of it having been shot. It came with factory smooth target grips. Serial 5k89xxx
