It sounds nice but probably $400 (?) high. Right now the 6" has the lowest selling prices; the 3.5, 4 and 5" are highest, and the 8 3/8" may be even be going a little higher.

Really? I always see 8 3/8" guns selling for less than all the other barrel lengths.

The 6 inch 27-2 has definitely the lowest value of the barrel lengths. The reason the 8 3/8 inch usually sells for more then the 6 inch is because they made way less 8 3/8 inch 27-2 revolvers then the 6 inch and are harder to find in top condition. The unofficial rule is the shorter the barrel the higher the price and the 3.5 is currently the most sought after barrel length even though the 4 inch is a rarer revolver. The 5 inch is also sought after and I think the best balanced of the barrel lengths.

8 3/8" is always the lowest when I'm looking. I think that $1300 is a bit high, but would gladly pay around $1000 for the gun as described.
