Was looking for the ship date of a 29-3 with a serial # of 504xxx does that seem right? Thanks Guys

A 29-3 is not pinned and recessed, and came out after 1980 (so in wrong section of forum). Yours should have three letters followed by numbers such as ABC1234 as the serial number. Open the cylinder and check on the frame. Or remove the stocks and check the bottom of the frame.

Some of the early 29-3s have an N prefix serial number but these are in the N900000 range. Can you post a photo of the serial number on your gun?
