Pricing on a 36-1
Local dealer has a 3inch 36-1 w/box and papers. Ser #J131140.
Asking $649; seems high for a .38 spec only. Opinions?

If it is unfired, as NIB, not a mark on it some collector may pay that much if they are looking for such a gun. Otherwise, I believe the dealer is high, and so is the price on the 36-1. Those guns are not particularly rare, they can be found for less. If you are looking for a handgun for plinking or self defense, there is a plethora of items in that price range that would fill those roles better than a J frame.

I’d say that price is way to high unless it’s NIB, unfired, with all the goodies. And even then?? I’ve purchased 5 model 36 no dash and -1’s in the last year and the most I’ve paid is $450 for a factory nickeled 3” RB dash 1 in like new condition, but without any of the goodies.

I paid $450 for my 36-1 in December.
Like new, but had been fired. No box or papers.
California prices.
