One of the prettiest early commemorative firearms S&W has ever made, IMHO...
It has been one of the best kept secrets for many years to many serious collectors as it has tended to be not only a nice collector revolver but also a very unique 45LC shooter.
It has often gotten a bad wrap because of its short cylinder and a tendency to have inconsistent throats causing many people to overlook it's potential... They have proven to be excellent shooters for many of us, especially those of us who cast our own bullets and tailor them to our shooting needs.
With the included special presentation case, their usually outstanding smooth presentation grips, the Jinks book, the special medallion as well as being a highly polished, pinned barreled N frame gun of the 1977 era, they should sell for much more than they commonly do today.
I believe this is changing now. Current curiosity and a renewed interest in this outstanding example of an era long gone will soon elevate this firearm to the status it has long been denied....
Buy them while you can, people....
