Default S&W 25-3 125yr anniverary 45 colt value question

I have a chance to buy a S&W 25-3 125 anniversary model in 45 colt it comes with the shipping box the cardboard S&W box the presentation wood box all paperwork gun is unfired very faint line on the cylinder some very few handling marks 6.5 inch barrel. My question is value what is a fair market value the seller is asking$1200.00 is this about right to much or a steal?

1200 seems fair to me, and 1500 not out of line as an asking price. S&W values have been rising lately. This probably would have been a 900 dollar gun this time last year.

One of the prettiest early commemorative firearms S&W has ever made, IMHO...

It has been one of the best kept secrets for many years to many serious collectors as it has tended to be not only a nice collector revolver but also a very unique 45LC shooter.

It has often gotten a bad wrap because of its short cylinder and a tendency to have inconsistent throats causing many people to overlook it's potential... They have proven to be excellent shooters for many of us, especially those of us who cast our own bullets and tailor them to our shooting needs.

With the included special presentation case, their usually outstanding smooth presentation grips, the Jinks book, the special medallion as well as being a highly polished, pinned barreled N frame gun of the 1977 era, they should sell for much more than they commonly do today.

I believe this is changing now. Current curiosity and a renewed interest in this outstanding example of an era long gone will soon elevate this firearm to the status it has long been denied....

Buy them while you can, people....

That is quite an impressive package. If kept like new, the price can only go up.

Since it is a commemorative, I wouldn't worry about how it shoots, unless someone has already been shooting it. What you can sell it for drops off drastically if it's been fired.
