The C serial would be a Military & Police Model from 1948/49.

SaxonPig has identified it for you in his post. It's a Military and Police Model. It later became the Model 10 in about 1957.

That is the model. It's a Military & Police .38 Special. About a decade later it was dubbed, Model 10.

Like I said, Military & Police Model. That is the official designation by S&W.

These were lettered as shipped in mid 1949 and are a little higher than yours in serial.

Thank you all for the help. I have another one that is a 32 caliber and a smaller frame. I will post some pictures. I believe some of the pictures I have are to big.
