As S&W offers a manual upon request I asked them using their E-Mail-address qa@... for manual and partslist for a K22 S/N K291xxx.

I got an answer which I really do not understand:

Dear Customer,

Smith & Wesson does not and will not include microstamping in its firearms. Without some change in position by California, any semi-automatic pistols that are forced off of the Roster cannot be put back on. This also means that new semi-auto pistols will not be added to the DOJ Roster. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Is this a meaningful answer for my request or am I only victim of copy&paste absent minded on behalf of S&W?

Enlightenment.

I'm guessing their "form" letters are numbered, and the answer to your question has similar or dyslectic number to the one you received. You might try again. If I remember correctly, if you go to the website and hunt around there is a tab where you can select the correct manual for your S&W handgun. I recall doing this a few years ago for a model 469.

The factory only has a generic manual called "Modern Revolvers". You can find a correct parts list for your 1950s K-22 from a private seller, but there was no factory instruction manual for this (or any other handguns) at that time.

Hard to fathom how that auto-reply got connected to your question, however.
