Hi everyone. I am hoping you fine folks can help this old man out one more time. I recently picked up a S&W Model 32 Terrier in S&W 38 to fill a hole in my S&W collection. It is a 32-1, so I know it is a J frame revolver and not an I Frame. According to Supica & Nahas' Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, it was made between 1970 and 1973. In Roy Jink's book, he says the R prefix Terriers were serial numbered in the same range as the Model 60. In looking up model 60s, it would also fall in between 1970 and 1973, so that is consistent. My serial number is R70094. I was hoping someone out there may know which of those three years mine was manufactured, or have a Model 32 or 60 close in serial number to mine where we could narrow down the year of manufacture. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
Terry

Using Model 60 as the basis for comparison I found a M60 with s/n R78xxx shipped June 73. I have a M60 with s/n R26577 shipped Oct 70. I would guess yours would be early 73 or very late 72. Others here might get you a bit closer.

It's nice to fill a hole in the collection. Do you have pics for us?:D

Thanks, Haywood. Yes, this is the same reference I found to get it it to the 3 year range 70 to 73. I was hoping to narrow it down to the specific year in that range. I think Dan may have done that, but thanks.
Terry

Thank you, Dan. You're the man. I appreciate the help. I agree with you. Based upon what you found for me, I would agree it was made in 1973. Mystery solved, and case closed. Thanks again. (Here she is)
