Here is a Model 19-3 with Fixed Sights and a 3 inch barrel. It is "1 of 50" made from the contract overrun of parts. These were built originally for a French contract. The French wanted the guns in 9mm which didn't prove to be practical - Go Figure!!!
The Factory Letter:
I have all the original box, papers etc.

Oh, sorry. I thought I was in the classifieds.
I am envious.

And now they call that configuration the Model 65 Ladysmith. Great carry piece -- for a revolver.

How is a fixed-sight M-19 in .357, not an M-13? I mean, I guess S&W can call it whatever they want but it seems weird. Collector bait!

You nailed it!!! gives the whole gun a very different balance. The gun is marked M-19-3 as per the letter.

I like the 13 but that 19 is a good looking pistol, I like that look.

While finding a Registered Magnum is still my Holy Grail of Smith & Wessons' I think this one was my Holy Grail of modern guns. A .357 Magnum; blued finish, round butt, and full length ejection rod. Of course, being "1 of 50" didn't hurt things a bit in my book either.

KKG, neat revolver. Is it marked 19-P? As has been mentioned before there are 2 1/2 and 4 inch barrelled fixed sight 19's which I am fortunate enough to have examples of in my collection. I am on the hunt for both one like yours and another 3inch blued 19 with a ramp front sight. I suppose that is the fun of collecting. All mybest, Joe.

Joe; The marking is 19-3.

The 19-P where made in the -6 time frame, right? They are neither pinned nor recessed.
So far a 2-1/2" 19-P has eluded me...

Thanks for sharing, very interesting gun. I see that the gun shipped to Canada and would now be a banned gun, glad it returned to it's country of birth. John

I'm very glad it managed to make the fairly short trip back over the Northern Border. It showed up at one of the local WAC Gun Shows in Puyallup a while back.
The first one I ever saw was way back in the late '70s and it was one of four that were in the hands of a group of FBI shooters who were up in this area for a PPC Match. I even got to do a little 'tuning' and test firing of the gun. I've wanted one ever since but this is the first one I've ever seen since then.

Very nice find! And from one of our local WAC shows. Was the seller aware of what he had? Was the gun already lettered?

I think he 'kind of' knew what he had; his asking price kind of said he did. But, it ended up in the hands of my Show partner and he lettered it. I was in my usual "Gun Poor" condition and but managed to get it away from my partner before too long and it didn't cost me too much extra.
