Hi all

I spoke about purchasing this Shooter Grade 5" barrel Model 27-2 about two months ago.

5" Model 27-2 Shooter - New to Me

My Permit to Acquire (Police Firearms Registry must give you a permit before you are allowed to pick up a purchased Firearm - $30 AUD per permit - 1 permit per gun) finally arrived last week and so I picked up my Revolver on Friday.

I have not had a chance to dissemble and clean it yet so these aren't the best photos (plus I'm not a great photographer) but here they are anyway. This 27-2 does have some cosmetic issues and looks like the hammer and trigger have been swapped out. Please bare in mind that I only paid $750 AUD (about $480 USD) for it and that 5" Model 27's are very rare in Australia so sometimes you have to take what you can get.

Any feedback welcome; +Ve or -Ve. Thanks

Your revolver was produced in the 1975-76 time frame and the target stocks would be of the football variety. Speed loader cutout variety came later. The trigger appears to be narrow and smoothed down on the surface. That is a real plus if you plan on a lot of double action shooting. Nice revolver. I have a real penchant for the 27-2.

A true S&W Classic. I've gotten rid of a few 357's lately, but my shooter grade 5 1/2" 27-2 isn't going anywhere. Congratulations on a great purchase and kudos for your patience on the ted tape to acquire your gun.

Dan
