Value of SW model 10 snub nose 38 spl nickel
I am seeking value of 10-5 nickel finished Snubbie. The gun is square but, very clean, with of wood grips. Where can I get history of this model?
Thank you Koz

The picture doesnt tell us much. Value is in the details. You might get a copy of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, it will describe the model and history.

Amazon, either hardback or the Kindle version. Many experts on this Forum contributed to the book.

Look at the top of this post, and you'll see a sticky titled "To identify your gun".
Give us that info and a few good pics, and you'll get lots of info.

Assuming it is as it looks and no deterioration of the nickel under the grips, and that it is factory nickel, I might say someone would be willing to pay 700 for it. It is a square butt, and does have the PC magnas. Personally I would not pay more than 600 for it

Locally, in RI, it would probably be listed for $695...and would likely sell for $600-$625

Koz, sq. butt grips are basically flat on the bottom. PC grips were rounded.
Not the frame of the gun, just the grips. I hope this is not a distress sale.
A normal value and sale is $650-$700.

Nice revolver. I am partial to nickel model 10s. Here is a what a round butt K frame snub nose looks like. Compare to the square butt. A Model 64. Essentially a stainless steel version of the Model 10.

I'd be in the same range. $600 to $625. Prefer round to square butt. Would probably have to buy it in the $550 range.
* A CRAZY gun shop in Charlotte has one listed at $2000. No box. Not 100%. Thing's been sitting there for months. No idea what they are thinking. I always figured that it was a $600 or so gun. I am sure that some of you Charlotte area folks have seen it.

I recently traded for this 1982 Model 10-7. These seem to run anywhere from around $600 to $800 depending on condition and if the original box is included.

After your all's help I went on GunBroker and search for closed auctions. Seems 600 to 700 was the money they are getting. I don't have a box or of paperwork. It break to sell it. I haven't seen one of these locally for some time.

It's a father looking to help out his kid struggling with bills. Funny she would be pretty upset to find out I was selling it to help her.

I'm thinking in the $600 - $650 range as well. In the two inch snubby models I believe a RB grip frame would add a bit more, but yours is in pretty good shape from the pictures posted.

I paid $750 for a LNIB one last year. I would pay $600 all day long for the one you showed.

Value of SW model 10 snub nose 38 spl nickel
This thread got me thinking. I have Model 10 nickel in round and square butt. Pulled this one out of the safe. Forgot how nice it is. Was a super deal. Came from a small gun shop on Route 1, north side of Sanford, NC, a few years ago. Maybe paid $425 for it. One of those "so good that it does not reflect market price" deals.

FYI, the "Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson" sells for about $60 bucks. Maybe plus shipping.
MOST people have one question about a S&W they just got and have no plans to spend that much info for a book they will NEVER use again.
Just FYI
